The guys in Midland have always been big supporters of our veterans and our military, so the fact that they and their music has even a small impact on those men and women is very humbling and a big honor for them. Lead singer Mark Wystrach says, “We run into veterans and people that are currently serving all the time, that come to our shows, our meet and greets, and we are just blown away by their bravery, their selflessness and the courage that it takes to answer that call. And it’s not even just about like war or being in the fighting. It’s about the services that the military provides this country domestically, abroad, in so many different areas, and men and women and everybody that serves.”
Mark’s dad is a veteran, so he has the utmost respect for anyone who serves our country and he says, “It’s just incredibly honorable and they do deserve to be honored, and we honor them every chance that we can get.”
Midland often has a chance to meet military men and women at their shows, including some young 24-year-old guys who became fans and attended several shows, who were recently deployed to Afghanistan. Mark says, “They’re still sending us videos and DM’s (direct messages) of them out there. And the music is something that helps get them through.”
Midland knows it’s guys like that and all of our veterans who serve that afford them the freedom to pursue their own dreams and make albums like Let It Roll, featuring their latest single, “Mr. Lonely,” and Mark says, “The fact that if that means something to our veterans and if it means something to our servicemen and women, that’s incredible.”
Midland – Veterans Day :59
Mark Wystrach – “We run into veterans and people that are currently serving all the time, that come to our shows, our meet and greets, and we are just blown away by their bravery, their selflessness and the courage that it takes to answer that call. It’s about the services that the military provides this country domestically, abroad, in so many different areas, and men and women and everybody that serves, It’s just incredibly honorable and they do deserve to be honored, and we honor them every chance that we can get. We had some gentlemen that are really big fans of ours, they came to a show of ours in Denver and we met and went backstage, and then we ended up seeing them at a bunch of shows. They’re 24 years old and they just shipped off to Afghanistan, and they’re still sending us videos and DM’s of them out there. And the music is something that helps get them through, so the fact that if that means something to our veterans and if it means something to our servicemen and women, that’s incredible.”
