When Midland was putting together their latest album, “Let It Roll,” they were definitely aware of the ebbs and flows of the music and the kind of experience they wanted their fans to have when they listened to the whole album. Cameron Duddy says, “I’m sure it was a narrative thing we were going for. We treated it like a live show in a way, too, because we’re so coherent and observant of what works live, in what order. Not that we play the album live in that order, but we are very in tune with the ups and downs and peaks and valleys of playing music live for people and we took that into consideration when sequencing the album.”
You’ll find Midland’s latest single, “Mr. Lonely,” as track three on Let It Roll. It’s the first song they released off the new project, which was released two weeks ago.
