(AUDIO) MIDLAND WILL NEVER TAKE THEIR SUCCESS FOR GRANTED

Midland has started to experience some tangible success in their career, but they will never forget the challenges they faced getting to this point.  Mark Wystrach says, “My dad was an immigrant.  He says ‘Never lose your immigrant’s mentality because tomorrow’s never guaranteed.’”

Cameron remembers vividly playing gigs for tips, and while they weren’t sleeping in their cars or anything, he says, “Personally, I gave up everything. Not only did I give up my job but I relocated our family and came very dangerously close to defaulting on my mortgage.  I had to borrow money from our manager to make it through the year. If it wasn’t for the grace of the people and the charity of the people that believed in this band I wouldn’t be sitting here talking about it, that’s for sure.”

So even with “Make A Little,” the follow-up to their #1 song, “Drinkin’ Problem,” about to break into the top 15, Midland is committed to always working hard and never taking their success for granted because they know what it took to get to this point and they know it could all go away tomorrow.

Mark Waystrach – “My dad was an immigrant.  He says ‘Never lose your immigrant’s mentality because tomorrow’s never guaranteed.’”

Cameron Duddy – “Yeah, I still remember, passing around the tip jar, having my wife walk around with a tip jar at some of these shows and a big tip would be like 10 bucks.”

Mark – “And look man, we’re not sitting here claiming that we were homeless or anything, but the stresses and the amount of bill collectors…”

Cameron – “Personally, I gave up everything. Not only did I give up my job but I relocated our family and came very dangerously close to defaulting on my mortgage.  I had to borrow money from our manager to make it through the year.
