Midland’s debut single, “Drinkin’ Problem,” has been steadily climbing charts, already breaking into the top 20, and the band’s unique throwback sound has definitely caught a lot of people’s attention. Lead guitarist Jess Carson explains, “’Drinkin’ Problem’ is the first song that we wrote with Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne. We met them and began writing it a few moments later after telling them that we had this great love of Gary Stewart and we wanted to write something that kind of felt like something that he might have written in the 70s, early 80s, but that would be modern too. And ‘Drinkin’ Problem’ was what came out of that, and that started our long and kindred relationship with Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne.”
Midland co-wrote two of the other songs on their EP with Shane and Josh and have been working with them on their debut album, which they’ll release later this year.
