(AUDIO) MIDLAND’S MARK WYSTRACH ENJOYS THE DEFINITIVE AUSTIN EXPERIENCE ON HIS DAYS OFF

Midland is so busy these days promoting their brand new single, “Burn Out” and touring the country with Little Big Town, that it’s rare that they get much time off to spend at home, but when they do get a rare few days, lead singer Mark Wystrach knows exactly how he likes to spend his time.  “When I’m back home in Austin, my first stop is always Barton Springs,” says Mark.  “I always go get wet. It’s always 62 degrees year-round so when it’s 102, it’s a spring-fed natural swimming hole. Any time I go there, Monday through Sunday, there’s always a friend there.  And then, I like to go to the Cut and Putt, the Pitch and Putt.  You just go barefoot, you drink beers.  It’s real close to my house. It’s literally just –  you take a pitching wedge and a putter, and the fairways are like 80 yards, 90 yards.  That’s a good time.  And then, barbeques.  Barbeques and sit down and drink and hang with friends which ultimately always ends with you know with guitars being passed around. To me that’s kind of the definitive Austin experience.”

If the guys ever get some extended time off and Mark has saved up a few bucks, his go to getaway is always some place he can go surfing.  But for now, Midland is busy touring with Little Big Town on The Breakers tour until May 5th, and then they will spend their summer on the festival circuit.
