(AUDIO) MIDLAND’S MARK WYSTRACH GOT SOME PERSPECTIVE ON ROAD LIFE FROM HIS VETERAN DAD

Midland’s life has been a bit of a whirlwind over the last year, and at times the schedule and the time away from home has been taxing.  According to Mark Wystrach, “Last year was, I think kind of the first year when the wariness of the road had hit me and we were on radio tour and just getting used to being gone like that and the pressure and the travel and the duress that it takes on you spiritually, physically, mentally.”

During this time when things felt tough, Mark called home and talked to his dad, who is a retired lieutenant colonel Marine Corps aviator, who served two tours in Vietnam, and got some real perspective.  His dad told him, ‘Son, it’s just like being deployed only instead of people shooting at you, you’re getting to play music.’”  Mark says hearing that comparison, “it just kind of chinned me up immediately.”

With Memorial Day approaching, Midland is extremely grateful to those who make great sacrifices every day to allow them to pursue their dreams and watch their songs, like their current single, “Burn Out,” climb the charts.
