90% of the residents of the United States have been living under stay at home orders due to the coronavirus pandemic, which means everyone has been trying to find ways to fill their time. Mark Wystrach of Midland has several suggestions. He says, “If you’re looking for something new to binge watch or something to pass the time, can I suggest not watching TV. There’s so many apps out there where you can learn a language. There’s so many books that you can read, either on your iPad, your iPhone, or maybe you’ve got some books that have been laying around the house and you haven’t dared to crack one of ‘em open yet. Pick up a pen and paper, try drawing. You can go on YouTube, you can watch all these ‘how to draw’ tutorials.”
Music is always a great outlet for boredom and stress relief. Mark suggests you could learn to play along to some Midland songs, like their latest single, “Cheatin’ Songs.” He says, “Maybe you need to bust the guitar out and do some lessons on that.”
Mostly, Mark is hoping people won’t just waste time being a couch potato while they’re stuck at home. No matter how you choose to pass the time, he encourages everyone, “Let’s not just vegetate. Why don’t we educate, and why don’t we grow ourselves while we do have this extraordinary time at home, and we do find ourselves with a lot of time. Also, don’t forget some exercise, and also eat well. Keep your bodies, your minds and your spirits happy and healthy, y’all.”
