(AUDIO) MIDLAND’S MARK WYSTRACH ONCE GOT SENT HOME FROM A GEORGE STRAIT SHOW BY HIS MOTHER

Midland hasn’t been able to be out playing shows to promote their latest single, “Cheatin’ Songs,” so instead they’ve been reminiscing about some of their previous shows, including the first time they got to open for one of their musical heroes, George Strait.  As you can imagine, it was an exciting time for the guys, especially because it was going to be the first time they ever met George.  All was going well until after the show, when they were waiting to meet George.  Lead singer Mark Wystrach confessed, “Unfortunately … I got a little too excited and proceeded to drink almost an entire bottle of tequila by myself waiting to meet George Strait.”

Needless to say, he was in no shape to meet George, and Mark says, “It was a combination of Jess, Cameron and my mother that sent me home before George came down. It’s pretty embarrassing when you get sent home by your mother at a George Strait show.”

It’s funny to look back at that incident now, but Mark isn’t proud of what he did, and he says, “It’s a stain on my family’s name.”

Mark Wystrach – “It was really cool. Unfortunately, the first time we played for George Strait, I got a little too excited and proceeded to drink almost an entire bottle of tequila by myself waiting to meet George Strait.  And it was a combination of Jess, Cameron and my mother that sent me home before George came down. It’s pretty embarrassing when you get sent home by your mother at a George Strait show. It’s a stain on my family’s name.
