(AUDIO) MUSIC IS NOT JUST A JOB FOR BRETT YOUNG

CURRENT SINGLE: “Not Yet”

The pandemic was a hard time for a lot of people in the music community financially, since they were unable to work.  Brett Young happened to read an article while he was off the road that he kind of took offense to. “I’m not gonna name names,” says Brett, “but somebody said that any struggling musicians or artists, or anybody in the entertainment or art field that’s struggling should just retrain and go get a new job.”

Brett doesn’t disagree that people needed to temporarily find a way to pay their bills until they could get back to work in their music career, but to suggest they should abandon their careers all together and just go train for a new one is where Brett couldn’t disagree more.  “I think I can speak for our whole country music community at least.  We’re not gonna do that. Getting back to play live music for your fans is something that will always be a passion.”

Fortunately, for the moment, live music is back, and a lot of those who rely on touring and the live music industry to make a living are getting back to work.

Brett Young – musicians should get new job  :18
