While Hollywood takes liberties with filming locations all the time, the ABC drama Nashville is actually filmed in the city that it’s named after, and Clare Bowen thinks that makes all the difference in the world when it comes to the quality and authenticity of the show. “We couldn’t do it anywhere else,” she says,
They’ve been blessed to work with some of the city’s great musical and creative talents and Clare says it’s also been fun to be able to maybe help change the perception of country music a little bit through what they do on the show. “I guess the people of Nashville, listening to all of the different accents that come out and that Country music is, it’s so broad so people…there might be a misconception far away that it’s all rhinestones and big hair, but it’s actually blues roots like beautiful Americana like, it’s so deep and rich and there is so much more to it,” says Clare. “We’re so thankful that we have people who know what they’re doing at the helm of the show because otherwise we wouldn’t be able to make it authentic.”
A new Nashville soundtrack will be released next Friday. The Music of Nashville Original Soundtrack will feature a second volume of music from season 4 of the hit show, which airs every Wednesday night on ABC.

Nashville – effect of Nashville on perception :50
Clare Bowen – “Well, we couldn’t do it anywhere else. We’ve been started off with people like T Bone Burnett at the head of this thing, and Buddy Miller, and they both know Nashville like the backs of their hands. Callie Khourri wrote it. Steve Buchanan, who like, we call him the King of the Opry because no one really knows exactly what he does, but he’s put us all on this beautiful tour and he came up with the original concept. We couldn’t film it anywhere else, and I guess the people of Nashville, listening to all of the different accents that come out and that Country music is, it’s so broad so people…there might be a misconception far away that it’s all rhinestones and big hair, but it’s actually blues roots like beautiful Americana like, it’s so deep and rich and there is so much more to it and we’re so thankful that we have people who know what they’re doing at the helm of the show because otherwise we wouldn’t be able to make it authentic.”
