Jonathan Jackson, who plays Avery on ABC’s Nashville, says it was a childhood trip to Universal Studios that made him realized he wanted to act. Jonathan says he was nine years old, and “We went to Universal Studios and my brother and I saw how films were made, to some extent, you know, the ‘Back to the Future’ exhibit, blue screens and how they made the Delorean look like it was flying and the ‘Backdraft’ exhibit. I don’t know, I think that it just kinda captured my imagination and the idea of making films and telling stories.”
Jonathan says the one thing he could have never predicted is that he’d still be making a living by pursuing that childhood dream 20 years later.
New episodes of NASHVILLE return to ABC on Wednesday, March 16th.

Nashville – Jonathan Jackson when knew wanted to act :43
“Yeah, well, I think it was 1992, or maybe ’91 when we went to Universal Studios and my brother and I saw how films were made, to some extent, you know, the ‘Back to the Future’ exhibit, blue screens and how they made the Delorean look like it was flying and the ‘Backdraft’ exhibit. I don’t know, I think that it just kinda captured my imagination and the idea of making films and telling stories. It’s hard to explain. I think I was nine-years-old, so I don’t really know everything that was going through my mind, but at that point I decided that I wanted to pursue it. I had no idea I’d still be doing it 20 years later, but it’s been great.”
