Besides being the name of a song on their latest album, Lady Antebellum felt Ocean was the best name for the project, because in a lot of ways it represents the ebbs and flows of life. For Hillary Scott, the title was very appropriate for where she was at in her life when Lady A was making the album. “This season, even just personally, just with new babies that now can like give themselves a cracker, which is awesome, I was like the girl with my nose, just like, barely out of the water for a good little bit, just trying to readjust to three children under the age of six. Trying to figure out how to balance all of the things that I love and how to prioritize and re-prioritize certain things.”
Looking at Ocean as a metaphor for life, the struggle of adjusting to having three kids was more prevalent for Hillary when Lady Antebellum was making their latest album, but she says, “As of late I feel like we’ve just been sailing. But some days it’s smooth and then some days it’s not and it feels like the most genuine way to describe the ups and downs of life.”
Ocean features Lady Antebellum’s most recent #1 song, “What If I Never Get Over You,” and their brand new single, “What I’m Leaving For,” which is sure to resonate with parents around the world.
Lady Antebellum – Ocean reps life :40
Hillary Scott – “This season, even just personally, just with new babies that now can like give themselves a cracker, which is awesome, I was like the girl with my nose, just like, barely out of the water for a good little bit, just trying to readjust to three children under the age of six. Trying to figure out how to balance all of the things that I love and how to prioritize and re-prioritize certain things. And so I’ve been that girl lately, more so earlier, in the past probably a year and a half ago that was me. And then as of late I feel like we’ve just been sailing. But some days it’s smooth and then some days it’s not and it feels like the most genuine way to describe the ups and downs of life.”
