DEBUT SINGLE – “Found It In You”
When Tiera Kennedy first moved to Nashville from Birmingham, Alabama, to pursue her dream of being a country music singer, she thought things would fall into place a lot quicker than they did – like signing a publishing deal and a record deal. She admits she was not patient, but thankfully she has a wonderful support system that helped her develop patience and stay motivated.
Tiera Kennedy – maintaining patience :40
“It’s definitely my family and my friends that keep me pushin’ along. Because when I first moved to Nashville, I was playing a lot of like restaurant shows, so I’d play like hour or two hour shows, and I’d play a lot of covers. And when you play your own music people aren’t always super interested because they don’t know you yet. And sometimes that was super discouraging when people weren’t really paying attention. And I definitely had moments where I questioned if this was what I was supposed to be doing. I remember there were a lot of nights that I went home crying to my husband, and he just kinda reassured me that this is what I’m supposed to be doing. So yeah, they really keep me goin’.”
