Payton Smith started taking guitar lessons when he was a kid, but he ended up quitting because he was a little (a lot) stubborn about how he wanted to play. But if you ask Payton today if he’s a stubborn person in general, he says, “That’s always hard.”
The 20-year-old whose been introducing himself to radio with his debut single, “Like I Knew You Would,” says, “I feel like you’d have to ask my mom and dad if I was stubborn. Like, I wouldn’t want to say, ‘Oh I’m stubborn, or I’m not.’ It’s up to somebody else.”
However, Payton does admit he has very strong opinions, especially when it comes to his music. But, he says, I’m always trying to let somebody else speak into whatever it is that I’m doing. So, I don’t know if I’m stubborn, I just have a strong opinion.”
After further consideration, Payton laughs and says, “Maybe that is stubborn.”
