Payton Smith, whose debut single is “Like I Knew You Would,” has three younger brothers, and he admits that they have been known to get into some mischief on 4th of July. “Yeah, we pop a lot of firecrackers. You know, down in Louisiana we would always do a big fish fry. We would go out to this spot in the Gulf of Mexico called Last Island, and it was literally the last island before you got, like, to the end of the Gulf of Mexico and like it was just water from there.”
Payton loves to be outdoors and loves to fish, and he says, “We would go out there and we would catch fish all day and stay out. And then we would come in and fry up the fish and then pop fireworks at the house.”
So it’s no wonder 4th of July is one of Payton’s favorite holidays, “Obviously,” he says, “celebrating our country and the foundation and the birth of our country, but you know, we eat pretty good on 4th of July too.”
To quote the title of another one of Payton’s songs off his debut EP, “You Can’t Go Wrong with That!”
Payton Smith – 4th of July :37
“Yeah, we pop a lot of firecrackers. You know, down in Louisiana we would always do a big fish fry. We would go out to this spot in the Gulf of Mexico called Last Island, and it was literally the last island before you got, like, to the end of the Gulf of Mexico and like it was just water from there. You had the bay and then you had Last Island and then it was the Gulf of Mexico. So we would go out there and we would catch fish all day and stay out. And then we would come in and fry up the fish and then pop fireworks at the house. Yeah, Fourth of July is one of my favorite holidays. You know obviously celebrating our country and the foundation and the birth of our country, but you know, we eat pretty good on 4th of July too.”
