(AUDIO) Rascal Flatts Believes Kids Should Choose Their Own Paths

While Rascal Flatts has built a very successful career in country music, the guys all agree that if any of their kids wanted to follow in their musical footsteps, it would be up to them what kind of music they wanted to sing. Jay DeMarcus says, “I’m a firm believer in you gotta let them pick their path and choose their own destiny. I don’t wanna force anything on ‘em. If they love Country music and it’s part of who they are, great. If they like some other genre’ of music and they wanna pursue somethin’ else, I think they should be exposed to all possibilities out there.”

Millions of fans around the world have embraced Rascal Flatts and their music, like their latest single, “I Like the Sound of That,” but Jay says, “That’s the wonderful thing about music, different types of music speak different languages to different people.”
