Rascal Flatts produced eight songs on their Rewind album, including their latest single, “I Like the Sound of That,” plus three additional songs on the deluxe edition. It’s the first time the three of them have worked together as producers on their own music, and Jay DeMarcus says, “We quickly found out when we got in the studio together and started working on the music together we had just an absolute ball. I mean it was some of the most fun moments, musically, that we’ve had together in a long, long time.”
While it was an incredibly rewarding experience, Jay says it was also, “A lot of pressure on us because it was just the three of us and no outside opinion, so we sat there and literally long nights, blood, sweat and tears, kind of carving away at it until we came up with this unique diamond.”
The experience of producing together turned out to be such a positive one, that they will likely do more on their next album.
