(AUDIO) RASCAL FLATTS CONTEMPLATES LIFE WITHOUT A MUSIC CAREER

CURRENT SINGLE: “How They Remember You”

Rascal Flatts has been a band for 20 years, and prior to getting together, they were pursuing music individually.  So, after having had the same job for well over two decades, we wondered what they think they might have been doing today if music hadn’t become their career path.  Gary LeVox says, “I’d still be in Ohio, probably, workin’ for the county, you know.”

Not surprisingly, Jay DeMarcus had a couple of interesting ideas about what he’d be doing if he wasn’t in music right now.  He says, “I think I’d like to go into stoplight manufacturing.  It just seems like it’s always a job to be there.  They’re always gonna put street lights up.”

If that didn’t work out, Jay also says, “I probably would have pursued law somehow or another … breaking it.”

After Rascal Flatts winds things down this year, Jay will actually have his hands full with his own Christian record label. Gary LeVox will be pursuing a solo music career, with his first release being a Christmas song called “Christmas Will be Different This Year” with Academy Awards nominated composer/producer and artist Stephan Moccio.  And Joe Don Rooney plans to focus on being a full-time songwriter for other artists, for the foreseeable future.
