As Labor Day approaches, Rascal Flatts considered what they might be doing career-wise if their music career hadn’t flourished. “I was working for the Board of Developmentally Disabled in Ohio, so I know for a fact I’d still be there,” said Gary LeVox.
Jay DeMarcus thinks he would have ended up in a courtroom. He says, “I’ve always had an analytical brain and so I’ve always liked to look at both sides of things. And so, I probably would have gone to school a little longer and become an attorney at some point.”
Joe Don Rooney is pretty sure he would have gone into the family business. “I’d still be in Oklahoma, be an electrician like my daddy was, and like my brother is now. And I wouldn’t have been very good at it.”
But 20 years later, Rascal Flatts is celebrating their 20th anniversary as one of the most successful bands in country music, with their latest song, “How They Remember You” climbing the charts.
