Rascal Flatts is busy promoting their latest single, “Riot,” they just wrapped up their Las Vegas residency, they’re getting ready to head out on the RIOT! Tour 2015, and as they approach their 15 year anniversary in the business, they say there is a definite renewed spirit in the band. Joe Don Rooney says, “I think there is a newness to Rascal Flatts right now. I think it’s, again, part of this evolution. I think if you have any type of lengthy career in any facet of entertainment, or any kinda work you do, you’ve gotta kind of reinvent yourself, maybe a strong word, but you have to change, you have to keep it fresh.”
Recently picked up another ACM Awards nomination for Vocal Group of the Year, and Joe Don says, “It feels like we got a little momentum now. Probably more so in certain ways that we never had before. I think it’s a lot because we’ve all grown in different ways as husbands, fathers, as band-mates and as friends, as brothers in Rascal Flatts, and I think it’s helped us get to this place where we’re prepared for wherever this journey’s gonna take us. We’re ready for it.”
Rascal Flatts will kick off their Riot! Tour on May 29th in Maryland Heights, Missouri, with special guests Scotty McCreery and Craig Wayne Boyd as their openers.

Rascal Flatts – newness among band :57
Joe Don Rooney – “Yeah, I think there is a newness to Rascal Flatts right now. I think it’s, again, part of this evolution. I think if you have any type of lengthy career in any facet of entertainment, or any kinda work you do, you’ve gotta kind of reinvent yourself, maybe a strong word, but you have to change, you have to keep it fresh and I think the three of us, a few years back we looked at each other and we though we might be finished. We made some really tough decisions back then and here we are another three, four, five years down the road and it feels like we got a little momentum now.
