Jay DeMarcus of Rascal Flatts has two young kids, Madeline, who will be four in December, and Dylan who is two, and he admits that when it comes to keeping his language PG in front of his kids, it only took one slip up to make sure he keeps it clean. Jay says, “I think one time I slipped up and my wife gave me this look that could cut straight through you, and I’ve been pretty good ever since.”
It can get a little challenging after being out on the road with a bunch of guys cuttin’ up and cussing like sailors because Jay says, “You come back home and all a sudden you just gotta shut it all off. It’s tough.” But he’s proud of the fact that he’s actually really good about keeping it clean in front of his kids.
Rascal Flatts will be out on the road through October 11th with their Rewind Tour, then they’ll spend the rest of the year promoting their latest single, “Payback,” and taking a little time off for the holidays.

Rascal Flatts – language in front of kids :19
Jay DeMarcus – “You know what, I’m very good about it actually. I think one time I slipped up and my wife gave me this look that could cut straight through you, and I’ve been pretty good ever since. You know it hard because you get out on the road with all these guys that you’re in a band with and it’s like bein’ in the military. And you come back home and all a sudden you just gotta shut it all off. It’s tough.”
