(AUDIO) Rascal Flatts Says Sometimes A Sure Thing Isn’t A Sure Thing

Rascal Flatts just released their new single, “I Like the Sound of That”. It’s a song they all love, but Jay DeMarcus explains how sometimes a song all three guys love doesn’t make it onto their album. “Sometimes you can be so sure of a song going into the studio, and you get in and cut it and you try to put the pieces together, and then all of a sudden it’s not what you thought it was,” says Jay.

Often times Jay says what will happen is, “You live with (it) for about a month and you go listen to more songs, and you cut more songs. It’s funny because those (“sure things”) start to fall to the back of the pack sometimes because you find something else.”

“I Like the Sound of That” can be found on Rascal Flatts’ current album, Rewind.

Jay DeMarcus – “Sometimes you can be so sure of a song going into the studio, and you get in and cut it and you try to put the pieces together, and then all of a sudden it’s not what you thought it was, and then something you love so much, that you cut and you’re happy with, and you live with for about a month and you go listen to more songs, and you cut more songs. It’s funny because those start to fall to the back of the pack sometimes because you find something else.”
