Some artists avoid reading comments online, whether it’s social media responses or reviews on platforms like iTunes, but Jay DeMarcus of Rascal Flatts is the exact opposite. “I read ‘em all,” he says. “I want to hear what people are saying. Good, bad, ugly or indifferent, I want to hear what people have to say about what we’re doing.”
Whether it’s feedback fans are leaving about their latest single, “Yours If You Want It,” or comments about their live show, Jay says, “That helps us too, you know, if we’re on the road and we’re touring, some of the feedback that they give us for the live show is really valuable. Cause as we put together new tours we like to hear what songs they’re missing and what they want to hear and what they want to see us do. So I like it, personally, and the negativity I think you’ve just got to take it with a grain of salt.”
Rascal Flatts will release their 10th studio album, Back to Us, on May 19th.
