Reba McEntire’s career has spanned over 30 years, and in that time she’s found success in country music, television, her own line of clothing, shoes and cosmetics, on Broadway and most recently in the Christian and Gospel music world with her first ever inspirational album, Sing It Now: Songs of Faith and Hope. Reba says her key to success is simple. “I surround myself with people who think up great things for me to do. I’m not the thinker upper, I’m the doer. So you have to have a great team of people who are very energetic, enthusiastic and creative and keep saying, ‘You know what you can do…’ You surround yourself with smarter people than yourself.”
It was those people around Reba who inspired her to record her first ever inspirational album, which has now earned her her very first Dove Award nomination for Bluegrass/Country Roots Song of the Year for “Back To God.” The awards will take place in Nashville on October 17th, and the ceremony will be broadcast on the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) on October 22nd.
