In addition to music, Riley Green’s other big passion is hunting. He even has his own hunting show, Halo Country with Riley Green, on Dirt Road TV. Riley has done more hunts that he can remember, but if he had to pick a dream hunt, he says, “The more I think about it, an elk hunt, like up in, oh I guess they do it in Colorado and all that.”
One of the reasons Riley would love to hunt elk is because he says, “They say that’s like turkey hunting and that you call and they call back and they’re just such huge animals anyway. The thought of being on the ground with something that big would probably be like a scary kind of hunting. I’ve never hunted anything that was scary to me, I don’t guess, so I’m sure that would be exciting.”
As far as a dream vacation spot, Riley says, “I haven’t been that many places. I mean I’ve been up in the Midwest a little bit. Most of my hunting’s been down the southeast so anywhere new is exciting to me—I mean just different terrain, and you know how flat it is up north and all that. I’d love to go up there, probably just to see the mountains in Colorado, so anywhere I haven’t been is a pretty exciting hunt for me.”
Now that Riley is traveling the country promoting his debut single, “There Was This Girl,” perhaps he’ll be able to squeeze in some hunts in new areas, in between working.
