(AUDIO) RILEY GREEN HAS ALREADY ACHIEVED GOALS HE DIDN’T THINK WERE POSSIBLE

Riley Green’s debut single, “There Was This Girl,” has climbed into the top five on the charts, which bodes well for the one big goal he hopes to achieve in 2019.  He says, “First and foremost I guess, would be a #1 song.  As an artist it’s a huge thing and would be a very helpful thing, but also as a songwriter, that’s an even bigger thing.  Kind of a stamp of approval for myself saying that I wrote something that people really liked.”

But in all honesty, Riley has a hard time defining career goals for himself right now because he says, “You start talking about awards and getting nominated for things, that’s still a little bit too hard for me to comprehend, really, to place a goal on it.  But I’ve had so many that I’ve met already that I never thought I would – playing the Grand Ole Opry and signing a record deal, a publishing deal, having a song on the radio, selling out venues.  I think I need a minute to let all this think in before I really start making plans for anything else.  I’m still kind of surprised I’m getting to do what I’m doing now.”

Something else Riley never thought he’d get the chance to do is open for Brad Paisley on tour, but this spring that is happening.  Riley will join Brad for his 2019 World Tour, which kicks off May 30 in Albuquerque, NM.  Get all of Riley’s tour dates on rileygreenmusic.com.
