(AUDIO) RILEY GREEN IS INSPIRED BY THE GENEROSITY OF PEOPLE IN NASHVILLE WHO GIVE NEWCOMERS AN OPPORTUNITY WHEN THEY DON’T HAVE TO

CURRENT SINGLE: “If It Wasn’t for Trucks”

When Riley Green thinks about the people who have inspired him or made the biggest impression on him since he moved to Nashville, he says, “I’m really inspired by a lot of the songwriters in town – Jonathan Singleton, Eric Dylan, Randy Montana  I mean, there’s so many guys that wrote with me when I was nobody. I had no record deal, I didn’t have a song on the radio.”

The fact that these songwriters are trying to make a living writing songs with some of the other great writers in Nashville for top artists who will hopefully record their songs, Riley says, “It’s pretty cool to me to see the attitude of guys that not only just want writes with the guys that are probably gonna have a hit or (who)n have a record deal but also guys that they just appreciate their style of music, or maybe they get along with or whatever.”

Not only is Riley grateful for how those writers’ generosity impacted his career, but he says, “That’s somethin’ that motivates me to hopefully one day, I can be a songwriter in town and somebody will want to write with me, and some new kid I can help out. So, that’s something that’s pretty eye-opening for me that people are doing that, that have the kind of accolades that these guys do.”

Knowing what it’s like to come to Nashville as an unknown, hopeful artist, and try to make connections and get your foot in the door with other songwriters, Riley looks forward to being able to pay forward the kindness that was shown to him.
