CURRENT SINGLE: “If It Wasn’t for Trucks”
Before choosing to pursue music, Riley Green was a student at Jacksonville State University (JSU) in Alabama, and he’s proud to be one of the famous alumni from JSU in country music. “Randy Owen (of Alabama) is a huge Jackson(ville) State alumni,” Riley says proudly. “I’ve been really fortunate to get to know him over the last few years, and he’s always been super helpful to me. And he’s one of those guys that’s at every basketball game, comes to football games. There’s no telling what he’s done to raise money for the University. Randy was a big one.”
Some other people Riley knows went to Jacksonville State or are from the area include Jamey Johnson and Shenandoah. As a fellow JSU Gamecock alumni, Riley is proud, because he says, “It’s a small little college, but it’s getting a little recognition in the country music industry, for sure.”
Riley still resides part-time in Jacksonville, Alabama in a house he built to be near his family, whenever he’s not living in his apartment in Nashville.
