(AUDIO) RILEY GREEN IS THANKFUL FOR THE UNIVERSE’S TIMING

Like so many country music hopefuls, Riley Green spent about 10 years in Nashville working as hard as he could to make something happen in his career, before he signed his record deal.  While it did take ten years and a lot of patience, Riley says, “I feel like it’s perfect timing.”

Riley worked diligently to build up a large and loyal fan base and a huge following on social media, which got him in the door for some meetings with decision makers in Nashville, and he says, “I can see their interest in what I’m doing. But as far as them really being bought in, that wasn’t always there. And then of course, you know, I met Big Machine and they just were. They were just all in, you know. And I don’t think I would have wanted to sign a deal unless it was like that.”

So although Riley probably could have signed a record deal sooner, and released his debut song, “There Was This Girl,” sooner, he believes everything happened at the right time, with the right label, just as it was supposed to, and for that, he’s grateful.

“I feel like it’s perfect timing. I mean, it was almost getting to the point where there was a few things that I could have built on, but I’d almost done as much as I could do without something like this. I took some meetings when the interest wasn’t there with some record labels, and, I mean, you can look at my social media numbers and they look at the ticket sales numbers and stuff like that and I can see their interest in what I’m doing. But as far as them really being bought in, that wasn’t always there. And then of course, you know, I met Big Machine and they just were. They were just all in, you know. And I don’t think I would have wanted to sign a deal unless it was like that.”
