College football season is officially underway, and Alabama native Riley Green has the distinction of being one of the only Auburn fans in his family. Riley talks about being a War Eagle fan in a Crimson Tide loving family, and why he’s not too vocal about cheering for Auburn.

“It’s funny, my whole family is Alabama fans. I don’t know where I came from with the Auburn thing, but one thing that’s really cool about Alabama is the passion for the college football. And it’s cool to grow up in a state like that where college football’s got that much tradition. But, you know, also, you’ve got to be a little bit careful. You can’t lean too much one way or the other. You cut your fans in half. I got shows in Tuscaloosa, too. You know, I’ve got to remain a little bit neutral.”

Riley had to be pleased with Auburn’s season opener blowout against Alabama A&M, which ended with a staggering score of 73 – 3.  But he also knows their schedule is only going to get tougher as the season progresses.
