Following the number one success of his debut single, “There Was This Girl,” Riley Green just released his new single, “In Love by Now,” which he says was definitely inspired by real life events. “I feel like this song was a lot about a personal relationship that I’d had with a girl that we probably tried to date a few times and didn’t really work out. And I think maybe the last time I just kind of felt like she was probably better off finding somebody else, and that she was a real good girl and I just probably didn’t pay enough attention or spend enough time. So that kind of thought of, she’s probably in love by now.”
Rather than being just a song about a girl who got away, Riley says, “I liked that it’s a sad idea of a girl kind of that got away but also a little bit of a maybe coming to Jesus meeting. The guy thinking, ‘Well, maybe I wasn’t the best thing in the world for her.’”
Fans can catch Riley all summer long either playing his own club and festival dates, or opening for Brad Paisley on his 2019 World Tour. You can get a list of ll of Riley’s tur dates on rileygreenmusic.com.
