(AUDIO) RONNIE DUNN EXPLAINS THE INSPIRATION FOR HIS “DAMN DRUNK” VIDEO

Ronnie Dunn’s new video for “Damn Drunk,” was shot at Georgia O’Keeffe’s ghost ranch outside of Santa Fe, New Mexico.  That spot was chosen after some of the staff members at Ronnie’s record label listened to his new album.  One person said the three things that stood out to her in the music was the common themes of whiskey, women and the southwest.  Ronnie laughs because he says, “(That’s) kind of nothing new; I used a lot of that and integrated that imagery into what we did in Brooks and Dunn. It’s a big part of my life. I had a place in Santa Fe for years.

With that in mind, that’s how he chose Georgia’s ranch for the video.  “Damn Drunk” is the lead single off Ronnie’s new album, Tattooed Heart, which will be available on October 21st.

Ronnie Dunn – inspiration for Damn Drunk video setting  :43

“I met with the A&R team when we were getting ready to do the video, and creative at Big Machine. Everyone had listened to the record the night before, and I believe that Nicole Flammia, the head of the video department and creative, said, ‘I hear three things that jump out at me after listening to the whole project: whiskey, women, and the southwest.’ Which is kind of nothing new; I used a lot of that and integrated that imagery into what we did in Brooks and Dunn. It’s a big part of my life. I had a place in Santa Fe for years. And I said, well I know where we can go to shoot it and it was Georgia O’Keeffe’s ghost ranch outside of Santa Fe.”
