Ronnie Dunn’s latest single, “Damn Drunk,” features his old singing partner, Kix Brooks, which some people find kind of amusing. Ronnie says, “Of course everybody’s asking why and how Kix got on the record. I was playing him some of the roughs back in the dressing room at Caesar’s early on in the process and you know he’d listen and say, ‘Hey, I wonder what it would sound like if so-and-so were to do this and do that.’ After a minute I said hey why don’t you go sing on it, why don’t you go put that idea down. And we called Jay DeMarcus, the producer, and he was open for it and the rest is history.”
Ronnie jokes, “Here we have Ronnie Dunn with Kix Brooks singing … something different.”
