DEBUT SINGLE: “How It Oughta Be”
Shane Profitt just turned 23 on January 17th, which makes it even more impressive when you learn that he first picked up a guitar and taught himself how to play just five years ago, when he was 18. Shane comes from a musical family and grew up loving music, so we wondered what took him so long to pick up a guitar?
Shane Profitt – learning guitar :34
“I really don’t know what took me so long. I started out originally, whenever I was like nine, playing a banjo, and it was so, so tough. My dad actually taught banjo lessons for a really long time, and so he bought me a used banjo, and I tried learning with that. But with me being so young, I didn’t really have the patience for it, and I still… I am one of the most impatient people you’ll ever meet, unless I’m huntin’. So, I just picked up a guitar that Christmas and my granddad taught me three chords on the guitar, and I just stuck with it, and I kinda took it upon myself to learn the rest.”
Now, not only does Shane play the guitar in his live shows, but he also co-writes all of his own songs on guitar, so he’s come a long way in just the last five years.
