DEBUT SINGLE: “How It Oughta Be”
Every young artist, if they’re lucky, will have someone ahead of them in their career, who will impart words of wisdom onto them about the pitfalls and things to avoid in their career – like certain temptations or bad habits or bad decisions – and how important it is to focus on the opportunity they have and the hard work it will take to keep that opportunity. For Shane Profitt, it makes sense that his mentor and the person who helped him get his record deal after a chance meeting at a sushi restaurant, Chris Janson, would be the one to have that talk with him.
Shane Profitt – the talk with Chris Janson :39
“We definitely have had ‘the’ talk. We’ve had many talks. He’s told me what to look out for, and you know, he’s also told me don’t live too fast, stop and smell the roses. Anytime I have something on my mind or he has somethin’ on his mind, Chris Janson is one of those people I could call at 2 o’clock in the morning and he would be there. I am very, very fortunate to have him and Kelly, golly, I’m about to start cryin’. I called Kelly my music mama. She would kill me if she was here right now, but I call her my music mama because they’re both looking out for me, and it’s really great to be surrounded with people that always want to see you at your best.”
