Ever since Sugarland announced their reunion and released their new single, “Still the Same,” one of the most frequent questions they get asked is ‘who called who’ or how did the conversation begin to start making music together again.  Kristian Bush says, tongue in cheek, “My favorite answer, actually it’s a disclosure, now you’ll know that we had designed, before we went on hiatus, this special kind of laser projector that when you hit a certain button it puts a bat signal in the air that’s like a heart with wings.”

Jennifer Nettles calls it the “Sugar Signal,” and Kristian says, “Somebody hit the frickin’ button. And we called each other and were like, ‘Do we have to do something? What’s going on?’”

Jennifer and Kristian joke that the “Sugar Signal” signified it was time to start making music together again, and so they are.
