(AUDIO) SUGARLAND LOVES THEIR FANS’ MANY INTERPRETATIONS OF THEIR SONGS

Sugarland, who are currently sitting in the top 15 with their latest single, “Babe,” loves the ability to be able to communicate directly with their fans through social media. Jennifer Nettles says one of the things they love about being able to communicate directly with the fans is, “when we get to hear their direct feedback … they often will give us interpretations (of our songs) that even we didn’t know. They discover parts of the song that even we didn’t know, which is so fun.”

Those alternate interpretations are interesting to Sugarland because they usually write all of their own songs, although “Babe,” which was co-written by Taylor Swift and Pat Monahan, is the one song they accepted from outside writers.

Jennifer Nettles – “The beautiful part about the relationship between the artist and the fan is that, especially now in a day and age where we get to hear their direct feedback – now this is a blessing and a curse – but when we get to hear their direct feedback, is that they often will give us interpretations that even we didn’t know. They discover parts of the song that even we didn’t know, which is so fun.”
