(AUDIO) SUGARLAND THE MUSICAL … IT COULD HAPPEN

Back in 2015, Sugarland’s Jennifer Nettles starred on Broadway as Roxie Hart in the musical Chicago.  During Sugarland’s hiatus, in 2017, Kristian Bush wrote the music for an original musical called Troubador, which ran at Atlanta’s Alliance Theater.  So would they ever consider collaborating on a musical together?  “Anything’s possible,” says Jennifer, “but we’ve got a good thing going right here, which is good.”

Kristian believes it would be just another form of expression for them.  He says, “If someone approached us about Sugarland music … I don’t know, we love telling stories together so I really don’t think it would matter what medium you asked us to tell it in… I figure when you trust somebody when you make stuff, it’s a very vulnerable place, and if you trust someone enough, there’s nothing you can’t make.”

For now, Sugarland is focused on is focused on their music, like their top 20 single, “Babe.”

Jennifer – “I would be awful. I would be utterly useless.”

Kristian – “It might be unique.  I figure when you trust somebody when you make stuff, it’s a very vulnerable place, and if you trust someone enough, there’s nothing you can’t make.”
