Ever since Brantley Gilbert can remember, Thanksgiving time has always been family time. “It used to be for me, you know, my cousins and their mom and daddy, and sometimes we’d go up to Indiana for Thanksgiving,” recalls Brantley. “You know, my mom’s got family there.”
Now that Brantley has a family of his own with his wife Amber, their two-year-old son Barrett and their two-and-a-half-month old daughter Braylen, they’ll be staying close to home for Thanksgiving, but the holiday will still be all about family. In fact, Brantley says begrudgingly, “When it gets Thanksgiving, it’s getting close to Christmas, usually my wife’s already got our house decorated. But, yeah, it’s a great time for family. both sides of the family, everybody gets together and it’s a good time.”
Brantley just released his brand new single, “Fire’t Up,” and there will be no shortage of thanks and gratitude for him on Thanksgiving, “especially the past few years,” he says. “I’ve had so much to be thankful for and my wife’s really good about reminding me to slow down long enough to really appreciate what today’s about.”
Brantley Gilbert – Thanksgiving :37
“When it gets Thanksgiving, it’s getting close to Christmas, usually my wife’s already got our house decorated. But, yeah, it’s a great time for family. All of us, both sides of the family, everybody gets together and it’s a good time. Of course it’s family time, but looking around now, it used to be for me, you know, my cousins and their mom and daddy, and sometimes we’d go up to Indiana for Thanksgiving. You know, my mom’s got family there. But it’s always been, you know, a big family time for us. But outside of that, yeah, especially the past few years I’ve had so much to be thankful for and my wife’s really good about reminding me to slow down long enough to really appreciate what today’s about.”
