The Band Perry’s latest single, “Chainsaw,” has a similar aggressive, attitude-filled feel to it as their first two singles off of their Pioneer album, “Better Dig Two” and “Done,” and Kimberly says a lot of that has to do with the group of studio musicians they worked with on the album. “We built a great band around the three of us in the studio. I mean, these musicians were just fantastic. And I remember one particular time, we had just recorded a song and I remember the guitar player walked outta the room ‘cause we had just played really bold piece a music and he walked outta the room, we were all kinda high fiving in the studio and he just said, ‘Man!’ I mean, we just went there. And I think that was the spirit of the entire project.”
Neil agrees and says they were able to find a comfort level in the studio that allowed them to go to those new places with their music. “We’re good friends with all the section players and it was a family feel, so we felt very comfortable. You know, going to those very bold places musically. So it was a really exciting experience for us.”
