(AUDIO) The Band Perry Feels Like The Hard Work Is Paying Off

The Band Perry won their first ACM Vocal Group of the Year trophy earlier this month, and for them it was validation that all their hard work and dedication is paying off. Reid Perry says, “I feel like the three of us, persistence has been our best friend… For the past 15 years, we just have never said no, and always put one foot in front of the other.”

While competition in country music is crowded for spots on the charts and concert dollars, Reid says, “I feel like we’re our own biggest competitors, we’re always setting the bar to the next level, just because we love what we do. We love playing live, we love going out and playin’ country songs for all our country music loving fans out there.”

The Band Perry kicked off the ACM Awards show with an explosive version of their new song, “Chainsaw,” and to be able to end the night with an award was truly special. Kimberly said “Awards are special things because they absolutely are validation from your peers, and that’s such a special thing. The country music family is such a coveted one to be a part of and we feel like a part of the family.”

Like Kimberly said, ‘For the past 15 years, we just have never said no, and always put one foot in front of the other’. You know, until getting to this point and beyond and I feel like we’re our own biggest competitors, we’re always setting the bar to the next level, just because we love what we do. We love playing live, we love going out and playin’ country songs for all our country music loving fans out there.”

Kimberly Perry – “Well, and awards are special things because they absolutely are validation from your peers, and that’s such a special thing. The Country Music family is such a coveted one to be a part of and we feel like a part of the family.”
