The Band Perry will take time off from promoting their latest single, “Live Forever,” to attend the 49th CMA Awards as nominees in the Vocal Group of the Year category. Looking back on some of the previous years they’ve attended the awards, Kimberly Perry says she’ll never forget the first time they attended the awards and got to walk the red carpet. She says, “You’ve just grown up loving Country music, loving this show and never really imagine that one day you’re gonna get to be a part of the family.”
Something else that made that first year memorable and special was meeting Loretta Lynn. Kimberly recalls, “She was in like her Loretta Lynn ball gown…we grew up on her, she’s one of our favorites and so, I think, on one of the commercial breaks the three of us kinda walked up and gave her a Band Perry group hug. It was really emotional. It’s such an amazing thing to have living legends among us, and that was one of my favorite CMA moments.”
The CMA Awards will air live from Nashville on Wednesday, November 4th, at 8pm/7pm CT on ABC.

The Band Perry – favorite CMA memory :32
Kimberly Perry – “You know, I’ll never forget even the first time that we got to come to the show as artists and walk the carpet, for the first go around. You’ve just grown up loving Country music, loving this show and never really imagine that one day you’re gonna get to be a part of the family. And so, I know my first year Loretta Lynn was there. She was in like her Loretta Lynn ball gown…we grew up on her, she’s one of our favorites and so, I think, on one of the commercial breaks the three of us kinda walked up and gave her a Band Perry group hug. It was really emotional. It’s such an amazing thing to have living legends among us, and that was one of my favorite CMA moments.”
