Ask anybody who’s seen The Cadillac Three perform live, and they’ll tell you they put on one heck of a live show. The guys recall some of the first live shows they saw that truly inspired them to want to make music and get on stage. Jaren Johnston says, “I think my first show was the rock band Bush, I don’t know if you remember them, and Plumb and the Toadies all together at Memorial Gym and I remember crowd surfing and feelin’ like I was gonna die, but also feelin’ so alive. I was like, ‘That’s I wanna do’.”
Neil Mason was inspired by another 90’s rock band, Smashing Pumpkins. He says, “It’s still, to this day, the loudest show I’ve ever seen and I just remember, and they were really kinda right at their peak, and I just remember bein’ completely blown away by that. I was already, had started a band but I hadn’t seen the really big arena show yet, it really had a big influence on me.”
Jaren says seeing Garth Brooks at the Opry also had a profound impact on him. “My dad played drums, still does at the Opry and I remember seeing Garth with the headset mic and, I mean, it was just crazy. I remember bein’ like, ‘That’s how you do it.’”
The Cadillac Three will be hitting the road this week with Florida Georgia Line for the kick off of their Dig Your Roots Tour, which will run through early October. The guys are continuing to work on their debut album, which will feature their latest single, “Drunk Like You.”

Neil Mason – “I remember going to see the Smashing Pumpkins, they played at Municipal Auditorium, which is the old arena in Nashville.
