The guys in The Cadillac Three are all talented songwriters, which is a blessing, but can also be a little tricky when they write songs they aren’t going to record themselves, but plan to pitch to other people. Jaren Johnston says, “I do work tapes. Just like very, kind of bare minimum. I think a lot of times people will hear my voice on it, and it’s happened more lately than before. They’re like, ‘Oh, why aren’t these dumb-asses cuttin’ these songs, because this is obviously Jaren, this is Cadillac, right?’”
Fortunately, Jaren didn’t have to worry about producing an elaborate demo for The Cadillac Three’s latest single, “White Lightning,” which he wrote by himself, because once it was done, he knew it was a song the band would be cutting.

The Cadillac Three play Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry on Tuesday (9/29), the night Dierks Bentley celebrates his 10-year anniversary of being a member. This weekend, the guys begin touring as part of Chase Rice’s tour with dates in Pittsburgh on Friday (10/2) and Columbus, Ohio on Saturday (10/3).
