Jaren Johnston and Neil Mason of The Cadillac Three were co-writers on their latest single, “Drunk Like You.” The title can be a little deceiving when taken out of context, and Jaren admits, “Usually if somebody says a title like that, just me hearing ‘Drunk Like You’ right now it’s like, I don’t remember that day really at all, just because we write so much. But I do remember kinda, once I heard that, and I know me, I started spoutin’ off some s***, you know. I started throwin some lyrics out there.”
Neil threw out the example of, “Nothing gets me drunk like you,” and that’s when things really clicked for Jaren. He says, “You know, sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn’t. That was a day that it happened pretty good.
“Drunk Like You” will be on The Cadillac Three’s new album, Bury Me In My Boots, which will be released on August 5th.
