CURRENT SINGLE: “Not Yet”
Brett Young has had a lot of incredible things happen in his career so far, including seven consecutive #1 singles, having his songs streamed over one billion times on Pandora alone, selling out concerts across the country and more. But when Brett thinks about things that have had the biggest impact on his career and really helped shape who he is as an artist, he says, “I think some of the most formative years for me as a musician were actually the hustle of playing bars and restaurants for almost no people. Because I think those years proved to me how much I really wanted it.”
Although it can be fun and glamorous sometimes, having a career in music can also be challenging, exhausting, demanding and filled with highs and lows, and Brett says, “Every year that you’re willing to stick with it again when nothing seems to be happening or going right, it proves to you a little bit more how important it is to you and how much you want it. And so, I really look back on how long I hung in there, and how important that was to prove to myself that this was something that I needed to do and not just something that I wanted to do, or a dream of mine. It was something that literally was supposed to be where I was.”
Knowing how hard he worked and continues to work for his career makes success that much sweeter for Brett.
