Eli Young Band recorded a couple of new songs for their recent Greatest Hits album, and they just released a third brand new song called “Break It In.” Jon Jones says, “I think we’re really excited to get the call to say, ‘Go make the rest of the full record.’ It’s a lot of fun to do two songs at a time, but I feel like when you’re making those choices, so much of it is based on finding a single, whereas, I think you can make choices a little bit differently when you’re looking at making a whole project.”
EYB lead singer, Mike Eli, realizes some artists are choosing to release music differently – one song at a time or in smaller chunks as EP’s – and he says, “The way that the music industry has changed, the way that the fans and listeners are consuming music, it’s song by song. It’s not necessarily albums like it used to be. And so that makes it harder to think of a project as a group of songs. So we’ve been really focusing on two songs at a time, but we’re old souls and we want to go out and make an album and kind of do this whole tell a story thing.”
