(AUDIO) THERE ARE NO SLOW STARTS ON THOMAS RHETT’S TOURS

CURRENT SINGLE: “Slow Down Summer”

Thomas Rhett’s Bring the Bar to You Tour doesn’t kick off until June 17th, but chances are he’s already deep into rehearsals with his band. “I think the band, at times, has definitely wanted to kill me just for the amount of time that we rehearse,” admits Thomas. “But I think I’ve done so many cold starts to tours, especially in my early days, that I never wanted to experience that when I became a headliner. And so, we rehearse ourselves into the ground so that the first show of the tour doesn’t feel like the first show of the tour. It already feels like you’re in your rhythm.”

Anyone who goes to concerts regularly probably knows that the first few days of a new tour might have some hiccups or some minor mistakes because the artist and the band are still working everything out, but Thomas doesn’t want his fans to experience that because he says, I think, you know, a lot of people can tell, like, ‘Man, they didn’t sound like they really knew what exactly happened after this song.’ And so, I never wanted to have that moment ever again.”

As the saying goes, oractice makes perfect, and so, Thomas says, “We run the show so many times to the point of we can play it in our sleep, so that when we get to that first city, that city doesn’t have to suffer our rust. We’ve already knocked all that off. And so, then we get to play the whole tour full force.”

Thomas’ first two shows on his new tour are in New Hampshire, and he’s gonna do everything he can over the next five weeks to make sure that the show he puts on for them is just as good and polished as the show his fans at the last date in Fairborne, OH, on October 15th.
