Thomas Rhett will kick off his Very Hot Summer Tour this Friday, with special guests Dustin Lynch, Russell Dickerson and his dad, Rhett Akins. Considering Thomas used to travel with his dad back in the 90’s when he was a touring artist, having his dad out on the road to open for him is kind of a full circle moment. Thomas says, “I’m just glad to have him out there. I think there’s a lot of people that are gonna come to the concert to see my dad, like a bunch of people that loved him in the 90s. They’re gonna get to come to the show to get to watch some of the 90s influence and get to, honestly, to be blown away by how many hits he’s written in this genre.”
Fans will also get to hear Thomas sing some of the songs off his brand new album, Center Point Road, which comes out on May 31st, like “Look What God Gave Her” and “Remember You Young.” And with such a great opening line-up, he’s excited for the experience he’s gonna be able to give the fans. “Going from [my dad] to Russell Dickerson is going to be such a wild turn of events,” says Thomas. “And then to Dustin Lynch, and then to us. But I think it’s going to be a pretty well-rounded tour and I think people are going to walk away with a lot of different kind of vibes from the show.”
