Thomas Rhett has two daughters, Willa Gray and Ada James, with a third on the way, and he says his two-year-old, Ada James, “Oh, she is her mom, heavy. Ada is the most stubborn child I ever met and Lauren is the most stubborn female I’ve ever met … in the best ways. But like, getting Ada to eat anything green, you have to basically force it in her mouth. She does not let you do anything she doesn’t want you to do.”
Thomas anticipates that that stubbornness is going to translate into some interesting future conversations. He says, “She’s gonna be our one, I feel like, that we’re just kind of like ‘What do we do with you? Honey you have to wear shoes to school.’ You know like those kinds of conversations.”
Luckily though, in addition to Ada James being incredibly stubborn, Thomas says, “She’s so sweet too, and she’s so lovey and she’s so cuddly … and both of our kids, you know, when it’s nighttime, those are my favorite moments, just popping popcorn and watching Finding Nemo for the fifty-thousandth time. Like, those are the things that I will remember forever.”
Those nights and those memories are also what inspired Thomas to write his current single, “Remember You Young,” which is available on his Center Point Road album.
